1. What are the different types of medical moulds?

2. What helps ease the maintenance in medical mould manufactory?

While you may think of stackable medical moulds, unscrewed or side cast techniques as complex, this does not mean that the manufacturer needs a complex, demanding set of maintenance requirements. In applications involving complex cylindrical or conical connectors, such as the pin holder for an insulin pen, the pin protection system allows for reliable and accurate centering of extremely thin cores and optimizes the reliability of the system. Since this solution also provides the ability to retrieve the entire core after the mold is opened, and to move the core to the injection site only after the clamping force is established, it prevents any risk of damage that may be caused by bending or even breaking. Making these cores, as well as the lower threaded cores, easy to simply handle and improve availability, directly from the rear injection medical mould to the injection molding machine, is made possible by a separate hot runner distributor design. The hot runner system is designed for specific applications.

 

3. How should the environment be like in the medical mould manufactory?

Like the industries they serve, medical moulds are operated in a highly regulated, high-quality environment, often producing products in clean rooms that require special air filtration systems. The decision to use a clean room depends on air cleanliness, which is a function of the size of particles in the air and the amount required in the manufacturing process. To ensure clean air, the cleanroom relies on a filter mounted on the ceiling, through which air enters the room and sweeps down to the bottom of the walls to the exhaust pipe near the floor. Air flows in layers, from top to bottom, and keeps particles floating in the air, causing pollution. Cleanrooms have different categories, each representing the size and number of particles allowed in a cubic meter of air. The level of the cleanroom also determines the frequency of complete ventilation. In a typical 25,000 square feet ISO 8 clean room, the volume of air throughout the room changes more than 20 times per hour. Of course, the filters need to be replaced, and clean rooms need to be cleaned regularly. Medical moulds operate according to strict documented procedures, describing these and other requirements.
