In the field of medical engineering, more and more components are needed, including syringe barrel, syringe plunger, intravenous injection module, connection adapter, insulin pen module, and so on. The demand for increased productivity per square meter of production space is also increasing, so are the requirements for input and output, and the need to improve efficiency or profitability. Due to their compact size and gate mass, lateral gate variants are commonly used in high-altitude bubble injection medical moulds, which are required to produce these components. This gating system is now supplied by a variety of manufacturers. There is no such thing as a comprehensive, multi-purpose lateral gate solution. In the past, a range of concepts have thus been developed and optimized for specific application domains and even for individuals. We have also developed a variety of side casting systems that allow medical mould manufacturers to cover many different medical applications with their own systems. Therefore, depending on the size, number of cavities and installation conditions, the number of droplets will vary from 1 to 6 when producing injection bottles, needle holders, insulin pen holders, connection adapters, etc. During the manufacturing of injection pistons, there is generally no room for two or more arm star drops in the compact medical mould. Thus, a "hot edge" to the drop is provided. This side gate concept is designed for specific mould concepts and is more compact and therefore more suitable for applications such as injection pistons. According to customer requirements, injection molds without side gates can also be equipped with valves to serve as gate variants for various medical applications, such as petri dishes. Valves are also particularly suitable for a variety of materials, such as TPE or low viscosity plastics. This allows for a particularly clean door, but is not always possible for reasons of space. Another example of an application that does not use side casting is a direct injection molding needle protection cap. In this case, the compact drop holder is used with up to 10 drops, ensuring good heat transfer.

 

2. What is the innovation of precision stack moulds brought by medical mould?

Through this pouring technology, the tight mold design opens up the potential for optimization and increased production. In order to improve the productivity of the production unit, the production capacity of the injection medical moulding machine can be doubled by using a laminated medical mould with two separate layers in one mould in addition to the multi-cavity medical mould. These systems, using two die parting surfaces in one die, achieve this with the same die mounting surface and almost the same clamping force. As a result, the production efficiency has been greatly improved, and the current production ratio is over 30%. With a traditional die very deep in half, the alignment of the separate die parts in a stacked die is critical to the quality of the injection molding parts and the life of the die. During the commissioning phase, the manufacturer shows the customer how they can adjust the mold to achieve the optimal production process. Tooling includes systems that support the customer to precisely configure and inspect the tooling and to continuously monitor the production process and make adjustments: monitoring systems with sensors, for example, help ensure that the tooling is optimally aligned during injection molding. Sensors record and evaluate data to detect possible deviations at an early stage.

As the proportion of all-electric machines increases, the trend towards electrification during injection molding is evident in the medical mould market. The concept of electric drive has been used more and more in the medical moulds. Clearly defined paths in the mold allow for fast, efficient and repeatable sequences. The advantages are evident in the sensitive medical market, where many systems operate in clean rooms and oil-free molds contribute to a reliable, pellet-free manufacturing process. In addition, electric drives require less energy and can be integrated into existing control systems. Programmable control devices allow actions to be triggered independently and in parallel. Cycle times can be reduced by using the shortest possible arrival and stroke distances within the mold. It is possible to limit load and monitor torque to reduce wear and improve die life.
